	Getting Started If you decide on a custom trip, the first step is to look over the regional destinations area of the site and check out our interactive map to learn about the activities offered in each region of the country. You may want to experience a broad variety of regions and activities in Costa Rica but you need to keep in mind the distances between in order not to spend all your time traveling. Most roads in Costa Rica are two lanes with plenty of curves, and while riding in a big windowed coach is a good way to see the country, spending four or five hours a day riding may be more than you want. In an eight day trip we typically visit three contiguous regions and stay two or three nights in each hotel.
