How to Plan Your Adventure

Scheduled Departure Trips: Ocoee Adventure Travel offers "The Best of Costa Rica" adventure trips on regularly scheduled dates throughout the year. The scheduled trips are active vacations including whitewater rafting, canopy tours, rainforest hikes, horseback rides and many other activities. The trips are not overly strenuous or difficult but we do stay fairly active.
If you want to join us on one of the scheduled trips, simply choose the date that works best for you and use our online reservation form to reserve your trip. We will take care of the rest. You will receive information in the mail on what to bring, what you should know about Costa Rica, and travel tips. We meet you at the airport in Costa Rica on your arrival date, provide an experienced guide and driver for the entire trip and deliver you back to the airport on your departure date. In between, your daily activities are laid out and planned along with meals and transportation. You just kick back, enjoy and leave the details to us!
Custom Tours: In addition to the scheduled departure trip, we specialize in custom tours of Costa Rica. These trips can take place any time year round! You choose where you want to go, what you want to see, do and learn and we will put together a customized itinerary with all of your activities, meals, lodging and transportation. From one person to large groups, family groups, corporate getaways or just friends looking for a great way to relax and unwind in a beautiful country, we can accommodate everyone. These trips can include a guide or you can choose to be on your own after arrival. You can request information by using our online custom reservation form.
Getting Started: If you decide on a custom trip, the first step is to look over the regional destinations area of the site and check out our interactive map to learn about the activities offered in each region of the country. You may want to experience a broad variety of regions and activities in Costa Rica but you need to understand the distances between in order not to spend all your time traveling. Most roads in Costa Rica are two lanes with plenty of curves, and while riding in a big windowed coach is a good way to see the country, spending four or five hours a day riding may be more than you want. In an eight day trip we typically visit three contiguous regions and stay two or three nights in each hotel.

Sample Itineraries: After you have looked at the regions, the next step is to take a look at the many sample trips in the tours and activities section of the web site. These sample itineraries are a good place to start because they have been carefully planned to provide the best overall experience. The samples itineraries do have pricing included and pricing is subject to change if you want to change any aspect of the trip. Pick the trip that most closely matches what you would like your trip to be and then select what activities or specifics you want to change if needed.
Contact Us: Once you have an idea of your trip plan, either e-mail or call us and we will work with you to put together an easy flowing trip full of lifetime memories from this beautiful country.
