Costa Rica’s weather is as diverse as it’s topography with parts of the country dry and arid while other areas receive up to 25 feet (7.5 meters) of rain during the rainy season. This diversity creates a habitat for over 1500 types of trees, 6000 flowering plants, close to 10% of the world’s butterfly species and the best part, 850 species of birds. Considering the diverse topography, weather and the number of bird, butterfly, flowering plant and tree species, Costa Rica is one on the most spectacular places in the Americas, if not the world.

Rates & Info for Birding Adventure Tour

2010 Trip Dates:

  • January 31 - February 7, 2010 - only 4 spaces left
  • March 25 - April 4, 2010 (flight arrival on 3/25, trip begins 3/26)
  • October 25 - November 4, 2010 (flight arrival on 10/25, trip begins 10/26)

Trip Cost:
The cost of this trip is $2450 per person for double occupancy.Single supplements are available for an additional $700.

American Birding Association (ABA) Member Price is $2200.00. This discounted rate is good for any trip reserved BEFORE December 31, 2009. ABA proof of membership is required.
 
The price includes:

  • Bilingual naturalist and birding guides
  • Accommodations
  • Meals and Snack
  • Activities and entrance fees
  • In-country transportation on a private bus

The price does NOT include:

  • Airfare
  • Tips to your guides and drivers
  • Airport exit taxes
  • Trip Insurance
  • Personal expenses both prior to departure as well as during the trip
  • Alcohol and bar bills

Payment Dates:

Your reservation will be confirmed upon receipt of a 50% deposit per birding in Costa Ricaperson, which is due 7 days after reservations have been placed. Payment may be with cashiers check, credit card or personal check. Final payment of the entire balance must be received in our office 60 days prior to departure. If not received, reservations will be cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
If reservations are made with less than 60 days, full payment is due at the time of reservation.

Please make sure you understand the cancellation policy— If your cancellation
is received prior to the balance due date (60 days prior to trip departure) there is a non refundable fee of $50 per person. After the balance due date, there will be no refunds or credits given for cancellations. Ocoee Adventure Travel reserves the right to cancel any trip due to insufficient sign-up for a particular week, weather flow, or for safety reasons. In the event of cancellation by OAT, a full refund of payments on land costs will be given. OAT is not responsible for additional expenses incurred by trip members such as airline tickets or personal equipment.
